Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA) Rule 10-7-506 identifies that the State of Tennessee or a political subdivision thereof (County) may establish and impose a reasonable fee for the recovery of costs to develop and maintain public records including digitally produced data through a Geographic Information System.
The following are datasets that are available from the Blount County GIS Group, and the fees associated with obtaining them. Blount County citizens can obtain GIS data of their property for non-commercial purposes. The fee is $40.

Blount County GIS data is maintained as an ESRI GeoDatabase Feature Class. Data can be delivered in the following formats:

Parcel Data: Parcel data can be licensed in two ways. A “Full Use” license enables the user to incorporate the parcel data into their GIS and utilize it without any limitations. A “Limited Use” license limits the licensee to use it for one purpose in a view only manner.

- Limited Use - Countywide Parcel Dataset – geometry & attributes: $2,500
- Limited Use - Countywide Parcel Dataset – geometry only: $700
Orthophotography: An orthophotograph is an aerial photograph from which distortions owing to camera tilt and ground relief have been removed. An orthophotograph has the same scale throughout and can be used as a map. Blount County participated in three imagery acquisition projects since 2007. One, March 2007, was in conjunetion with the State, and the two others, February 2007 and 2009, were with Pictometry International.

Street Centerline: A street centerline is a line digitized along the center of a street. Intelligent street centerline data for Blount County.

Planimetric Data: The Blount County GIS Group maintains many other planimetric datasets such as Municipal boundaries (Alcoa & Maryville only), city/county zoning, FEMA flood, streams, soils, etc.
- Disc of selected planimetric layers in ESRI Shapefile format = $40. Add additional $15 for data in AutoCAD dwg or MicroStation dgn format.
GIS Analysis: GIS Analysis and Hard Copy Data Sales are available from the Blount County GIS Group.
- Custom Mapping: $40/hour with one hour minimum and associated plotting or media charges. For example, a request from a developer for two hard copy topo maps of property south of Denso would be: $40 (1 hour of work plus first map) + $10 (second map) = $50.

- 8.5 x 11 = $1 for each additional copy
- 11 x 17 = $1 for each additional copy
- 24 x 36 = $10 for each additional copy
- 36 x 48 = $15 for each additional copy
